A young Jon Cheney developed Cheney Ranch in 1984. Jon decided to offer a community with paved roads and acre lots. This decision, along with deed restrictions for only site built homes, helped bring about the early success of Cheney Ranch.
Jon, his wife and their one-month-old son moved nearby to start selling lots for the now well known Cheney Ranch. A sales office at the corner of Cheney Ranch Loop and Sundown was one of the first buildings. Jim and Cindy Willis built the first home in Cheney Ranch. The next home finished was next door to the Willis home. It was built by the Williams family.
Today Cheney Ranch is a thriving community of over 200 homes.
